Additionally, in the same year, the Port of Hambantota, functioning as a multi-purpose deep-water port, successfully managed 918,000 metric tons of bunker and LPG cargoes. It experienced a 132% Y/Y surge in vessel visits with more than 300 oil and gas cargo vessels calling at the port during that period.
