China COVID-19 Updates: January 11, 2023
With the recent changes to China’s Covid-19 management strategy, the National Health Commission (NHC) of China is no longer releasing daily case numbers or classifying areas based on relevant risk levels.
China’s labor force is being affected by the virus which continues to impact factory, warehouse, and trucking industries through temporary worker absenteeism. Many infected staff are still able to work from home whilst recovering which is helping to mitigate the productivity impact on operations.
Century local office staff throughout the country are undergoing a flexible working arrangement as a precautionary measure.
With contact tracing measures removed, the previous requirement for a green health code to enter warehouses throughout China is no longer in place. Terminals, trucking, as well as all Century warehouses throughout the country are operating as normal without specific entry/exit requirements.
As of January 8th, 2023, cross-border trucking between China’s Guangdong province and Hong Kong has returned to normal except for a 48-hour negative testing report for drivers prior to departure. Testing protocol previously in place at the border has also been scrapped.
